My work is currently inspired by hunting and wildlife. The instinct that drives the hunt, within both humans and animals, is mysterious and universal. My mixed-media works are brightly lit with liquid color mischievously swirling around vintage-esque stripes and florals; they are slow to reveal the violence contained within. In my most recent collage pieces, inspired by John James Audubon, I use marble and origami paper to depict birds in flight and fight. Decorative motifs are used to conceal and reveal the underlying violent content.
